We were approached by the clients of this stately home in Clayfield to breath new life into the home and better connect it to the surrounding landscape. The existing home was already quite large in size, however like many of its age, had been chopped and changed over time and allowed to deteriorate in some parts. The home enjoyed an elevated position on the side, and this also resulted in a large disconnect between the house and the yard. By refurbishing the home internally and providing additional openings to the front and rear yards, we were able to better connect the house visually and physically to the outside. The project saw the refurbishment of the existing courtyard, plus the addition of two large decks and a project-defining terraced structure at the rear of the property. Overall, the house now enjoys a strong connection to the outdoors and ample flexible-use spaces for large groups to enjoy. The result is truly unique and unlike any other home.
