Nest

The brief of this project was to design a luxury accommodation cabin for a rural estate near Wivenhoe Dam. The property enjoys an isolated location with views out to the existing escarpment which the design brief aimed to capitalize upon. The home is cleverly structured around two independent bedroom wings - each with their own private ensuites which open up to the surrounding view. The cabins are serviced by a central living space which contains a compact kitchenette, seating area, a small fireplace and a uniquely shaped balcony overlooking the water tank inspired plunge pool. The form and colour of the building are made to both blend in with the natural landscape while also creating a statement at the same time. The result is nothing short of stunning and definitely somewhere we’d love to settle into on a cold winter’s night.
