Half Site House

The brief for this project was simple, to create a beautiful and well proportioned monolithic modern home which showcased the use of raw concrete and timber as the key design elements. The clients also wanted a certain transparency for the home and the ability to still visually connect the front yard through to the back of the property to enhance the perception of space on the lot. A well-positioned L shaped upper floor provides cover for a double carport down below and ticks the brief for this site transparency. This project is exceptionally well designed in the way it uses spatial efficiency to condense a lot of house into quite a compact floorspace, allowing the client’s budget to be used for the nicer material finishes that they are after. This home is bound to become a real landmark in the street.
