This project is close to our hearts as it is the refurbishment of our director Billy’s personal home. Billy has a passion for 2 things: Mid century homes and sensible design – meaning delivering big impact for minimal outlay. The design of this home is made to be a showcase of how a cleverly designed, low impact renovation can go a long way. The home is restrained and elegant in its treatment, and efficiently designed to create tight but practical, pleasant spaces internally. Through the use of a very small extension, the home has gained an additional bedroom and bathroom, plus an extra car space. One of the key feature of this design is the round concrete plunge pool at the rear of the property, which has been cleverly placed to be accessible directly from the deck while minimising the need for additional pool fencing or pool decks. Billy plans to use this project as a example to clients of how a good result can still be achieved on a tight budget.
